FAQs

Q?

Mass Casualty Emergency Plan

A.

Most companies have well constructed plans for Emergency Response, very few have included the aftermath of incident.  If your company is not prepared, give us a call, we work with many local companies (big and small) to make sure they are properly prepared.

Q?

Our Typical Odor Treatment

A.

We typically seal odors on concrete with a sealant or floor adhesive (for Vinyl, Laminate or Wood Flooring) on concrete surfaces.  This technique will trap any odors with Biohazard Staining, Biohazard Decoms or Feline Urine into the concrete.

Q?

Did you know that during floods, there are individuals who are not insured and not qualified that will solicit business to “HELP” with your cleanup (we call those individuals storm chasers)?

A.

Yes, in many cases this is true.  Bio-Tex is fully insured and carries worker's comp insurance.  This means that anyone who works on your property is insured for damages or injury.

When hiring contractors, always make sure they are insured and qualified.  If they are knocking on your door, ask them for their "Proof of Insurance".  If they do not have it on them, ask them to come back with it in hand.  Please stay safe.

Q?

Q?

Do we travel to remote areas of Texas, like Tyler or Odessa?

A.

Yes, we do.  We have found that all Texans need our services.  We do not charge more for location.  Every job is based on the local pricing of that area.  If you have a question about service areas, give us a call and we will discuss.

As always, we do not charge for conversation.

Q?

Did you know that the BBB (Better Business Bureau) charges businesses to be member?

A.

Yes, they do.  It is not as simple as filling out their application.  Typical memberships are $800.00 per year.  We have always felt that our reputation and the return customers are proof of our workmanship.  See our customer reviews to hear what some of our customers have to say about us...

Q?

Did you know that Non-Profit Cleanup Organizations Still Charge?

A.

Someone's paying and more than likely it will be you.  We are noticing that there are companies advertising that they are Non-Profit.  This does not mean You Do Not Pay.  This just means that all of their operating profits go back into the business (owners, workers all pull wages that come from operating profits).  These companies are no different than the "You Pay Nothing" advertisers when it comes to your insurance.  These are not accurate and do not be misled.  Every company needs to be paid and there isn't a government agency that provides the means to support a business for biohazard removal.  There are services with the state for reimbursement to the individual but this is not intended for full payment.

When seeking a company to take care of your very sensitive situation, you will need a company that has years of experience and is fully insured to handle your service request.  We are the only Houston Bio-Hazard Company that holds several Government Contracts.

Q?

Why is the pricing of other companies so expensive?

A.

We have found that franchise owned Bio-Hazard companies have the expenses that our company (which is independently and locally owned) does not have.  We control our pricing and we estimate every job on a case by case, even a "what can you afford" basis.  We understand that all of these events happen when money is tight and we take that into consideration.  Beware of having any company "pre-authorize" your card before they get confirmation of payment from insurance company.

Q?

Do you live out of State?

A.

We have many customers that will call us from out of state or not locally located in Houston with this scenario "My mother passed away and she is a hoarder, I live in New Jersey..."  In this scenario the customer mailed us a key to the property, we then went to the property and proposed the most cost effective way to liquidate the excess items.  We provided daily before and after photos of the property for the customer to keep in the loop on the progress.  There were several items that the customer did want from the property, we packed and shipped these items to New Jersey.  We also came across thousands of photos, we scanned these photos and provided them in digital format to each of the family members.  The property was liquidated via our recycling program and Estate Sale (our Estate Sales reduces the cost of disposal); a deep clean was performed; we manged the plumber and general maintenance, we also met with the Realtor for the sale of the property.  This project from start to ready for Realtor listing was completed in two weeks.  We believe this service model works well with many of our customers, our goal is to always service our customers from start to finish.

Q?

What Sets Bio-Tex Apart from Competitors?

We are Houston Owned and Operated.  We a strong belief in Customer Service.  When you call our Local Number (281) 781-3199 you will reach one of the owners 365/24/7.  You will not be transferred to a phone answering service that will "call you back" when they find someone who is available to talk to you.  We have been working with the Houston and surrounding communities for over 25 years.  Our experience and love of our community keeps us going on a daily basis.  Every customer is unique and we treat every customer as if they are the only one.

Thanks for visiting our site and learning about what we have to offer.  We hope to hear from you in your time of need.

Q?

Did you know that it is false advertising to say “No Out Of Pocket Costs” ?

A.

We have seen in our industry several companies' tag lines "No Out Of Pocket Costs".  It is our opinion that this is false advertising and they should not advertise this scenario.  We have found that there are times when your insurance will pay for the damages to your home or business but keep in mind that you will probably still be responsible for your deductible.  In the event that insurance does not pay, you will be responsible for the cost of the bio-hazard removal.  We believe in being honest about these situations and we always discuss pricing upfront.

Beware of having any company "pre-authorize" your card before they get confirmation of payment from insurance company.

We always provide FREE ESTIMATES & are READY to WORK when we show up.

Q?

Did You Know That Other Crime Scene Cleaner Companies That List Their Phone Number as 800 or 877 Phone Numbers That They are More Than Likely Not Even in Texas?

A.

In most cases, this is true.  We have found that these "Toll Free" phone numbers are just people with a phone number and dispatch out workers to work on your property.

We at Bio-Tex are Locally Owned and Operated (Headquarters in Houston).  We started this company for the love of Texas and the community.  When making your decision on what company to call, do your research and talk to individuals on the phone.  If they do not answer your questions or you do not get a good feel, give us a call (281) 781-3199 and if we cannot help we will put you in touch with someone we trust.

Remember do not sign a contract with anyone with the promise that your insurance will pay the balance.

Q?

Did you know that you that you should not sign a contract for payment with any company without getting your insurance approval for payment amount?

A.

There are some companies out there that will say "Your insurance will pay, don't worry about anything" and then you sign the contract.  In the fine print it says that if your insurance does not pay, you are left with the bill.  If you do not pay the bill, they will use their team of attorneys to put a lien on your property.  Do not get scammed, call Bio-Tex, we are locally owned and operated.  We take care of our community, you are not just a number.

Beware of having any company "pre-authorize" your card before they get confirmation of payment from insurance company.

Q?

Did you know that you cannot ask your employees to remove blood borne pathogens without training?

A.

This is true.  You as the employer will be held responsible if your employee does not receive the appropriate training and is harmed during the cleanup process.  Spare yourself the exposure level and workers comp claim, call Bio-Tex.  We are Fully Insured.

Q?

Does Insurance Pay for Suicide Cleanups?

A.

We have found that there are instances where your home owners insurance does pay for a suicide cleanup.  Each insurance agency is unique.  You have the right to use any company you want to clean your house, even when Insurance gets involved.  Insurance will want to stear you towards a Fire & Remediation Company.  Anytime a Bio-Hazard comes into play, you owe it to yourself and your family to choose a company like Bio-Tex that specializes in these types of hazardous cleanings.  Let your insurance company know that you are going with Bio-Tex.  Remember that if you are going to go with your insurance company to write down the following:

Adjusters Name
Adjusters Phone Number
Your Deductible
